bump for updates
somebody put up some stuff, like- the original Rexrode guide, Give Blood climb at Culp by Dave Henkel, a Headbanger wall topo, a good Patina wall topo, glen cliff, Los Coches, Corta Madera, 1979 climbing guide, Sam Golding bouldering guide, Mcqueen boulder.
who can be contacted for some low profile Vista, Carlsbad, Deerhorn, or and Crest beta.

Erik, I have a copy of Ray Olsens Deerhorn guide and a copy of the Crest sport guide by Goode. Let me know if you are interested. Currently I am rehabing in JT now with a broken back after taking a fall on 4/10.

I would like a copy of the old Deerhorn guide and the one for Crest. Thanks. I hope the rehab goes well for you.

If you still have the one for Crest I would like to give it a look. I've been wondering about that place for a while. Thanks.

Does anyone know how to get to the Otay Lake Scounger Boulders? I live in CV and would like a close outdoor place to practice. Thanks
I've seen Hubbard's Topo but am unsure exactly where it is.

Drive East on Otay Lakes Rd, past all the houses until you are driving along the shores of the lake. When you reach the far Eastern tip of the lake the boulders are in a shallow ravine to your left/North. Pull your car into the skydiver parking lot on your right. Park under the pepper tree. Cross the road and hike 500 yards or so North/West. You are there. It is a nice easy approach. Watch for rattlers as usual.
The Scrounger Boulders are a unique pocketed rock. What it lacks in volume, it makes up for in interesting limestone style bouldering. It is the only thing of its type I've seen in SD County. It is a welcome change from all of the granite and it is close to town. You can find morning and afternoon shade and the lake can create a microclimate breeze. Having said that, I call this area scrounger because the volume is not huge. I try to do every climb every time I go there as a circuit goal. If you can do that it is a great session. Have fun.
